Homestudy/Post-Placement
All adoptions require home study and post-placement services to be completed by a local state licensed agency. Lutheran Social Services of New England is licensed to provide home study and post-placement services in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire (other states, see below.*) Residents of these states may choose to utilize LSSNE home study and post-placement services in conjunction with our international or domestic adoption programs, or those of any licensed out-of-state agency. Our staff will work in coordination with the licensed child-placing agency of your choice to prepare your home study and post-placement reports to the required legal standards.

We'll be here to support your family as your children grow."Our home study and post-placement services extend beyond those of other adoption agencies by offering adoptive families choices and opportunities. As part of our home-study and post-placement services, we provide families with on-going occasions to learn about parenting an adopted child. When you choose our home study and post-placement services, you’ll also receive an invitation to attend:
- adoptive parent preparation classes
- monthly pre-adoptive parent group meetings
- post-adoption classes, seminars and family events
All services are presented by our experienced adoption professionals, many of whom are adoptive parents and adoptees themselves.
*Families living in states other than Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island are encouraged to visit the Lutheran Adoption Network (LAN) in order to locate our partner agency in your home state for homestudy and post-placement services.
