Waiting Parents
Joe & Kristin ... waiting in Connecticut
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We, Kris and Joe, have always enjoyed writing and found that the words flowed easily. This letter, however, is one that we could neither prepare for nor ever anticipate we would write. We would like to start by saying that we do not know how you feel so we’re not going to pretend that we do. If we had to guess, uncertainty, fear and confusion are probably at the top of your list. We can, however, tell you that for us, raising a child is the ultimate expression of love.
We have wanted, for many years, to bring a child into our lives. After several attempts, through the use of fertility medication, Kris became pregnant in 2001. We were ecstatic! We planned everything going forward around the arrival of our first child. Unfortunately, our baby was very sick and we lost her at twenty weeks.
We were so devastated by this that we didn’t start trying again for several years. Again, we had to use infertility drugs but this time, we simply could not conceive. We have grown from our experience and it has brought us closer.
We know that you are going through a very difficult time right now. The fact that you are considering allowing us the immeasurable joy of welcoming your child into our lives can be matched by nothing else! Kris and I have loved kids since we were kids. When we first started dating, we soon realized that loving children was something we both had in common.
We are very committed to giving your baby a lifetime of love, security and happiness. We want your child to know and understand the difference between right and wrong. We are committed to raising your baby to have respect for him or herself as well as those around him or her.
We both come from caring and loving families. Our parents have been very supportive and are very excited about the chance to spoil a grandchild! We have many friends our age who have young children and would love to welcome a new one to the gang. We live in a small town in a neighborhood with filled with kids and your child would grow up with plenty of friends around to play with. Throughout this album we hope you will see a little about us, our families, our friends and how loved your child would be in our lives.
We want to give your baby a childhood and lifetime filled with laughter, love and joy and filled with wonderful memories. We also want to want to watch your baby grow into a happy, healthy caring and responsible adult. We appreciate you reading our letter and looking through our album.
Thank you very much!
Joe and Kristin
