Waiting Parents

Maria & Kathy... waiting in Massachusetts
Dear Birthmother,
In sitting down to write this letter for a second time, we are at a loss for words. Seventeen months ago we adopted our daughter Gina and it has been an incredible journey! Both of us have come from large families and we believe that growing up with siblings is invaluable.
We live in a small community in peaceful home with two cats, a dog, and a large backyard, room enough for Gina and her sister/brother to play.
Education, faith and emotional security are important to us as family values. Because we have both overcome individuals adversities, we know that one of the best gifts we can give our child is to allow him/her to grow up with a strong sense of self.
We are both educators in the public schools and one of us has taken leave to be a full-time Mom. Traditional experiences have included sharing time with both our families for holidays, birthdays, and summer vacations. Gina and her future sister or brother has 11 cousins, 3 grandparents, one great-grandparent, and many aunts and uncles along with a circle of close-knit friends.
We want you to know that we have come to understand through this wonderful experience of adoption, is that your desire to find a loving home for your child deserves the utmost respect. Please know that your child will be loved and cared for beyond belief within out hearts.
Thanks for considering us,
Kathy & Maria
