Our hearts are full of appreciation for the strength, courage and love you have shown in making a birth plan for your child. We pray that you find comfort.
For the last four years, we have been trying to grow our family. There is room in our hearts and home for another child. Joseph and I have always known that we would adopt. We have mourned the loss of our fertility. Our experiences have brought us closer. We have experienced a great deal on this adoption journey. Here is our story.
Our Marriage
We have been married for seven years. We were lucky enough to meet through a mutual friend while Michelle was in graduate school. We started dating and two years later we were married. We have a five year old son, Carter.
Our relationship is based on honest and open communication. We are not only husband and wife, but we are best friends. We love and support each other. It is togetherness and cooperation that allow us to overcome any of life’s obstacles.

Joseph is dedicated, supportive, hardworking, and intelligent. He recently earned his school administrators license while working full time as a teacher and taking graduate courses. Joseph enjoys exercising, sports and is a history buff.
Joseph is such a wonderful husband and father! He is loving, and patient. Our relationship and family are his first priorities. Joseph fills our home and lives with happiness. He always has a warm smile and hugs for us. He is caring and kind.
Joseph treasures every moment that he spends with Carter. He always has time for Carter. They play soccer or baseball, read books, play with toys, or snuggle. I adore hearing them chase one another around the house giggling.
Michelle, by Joseph
Michelle does many things very well, but more than anything she is a wonderful mother. It was her idea for us to read to Carter every night and we do. She makes sure that his toys are educational, interactive and fun. She is warm and nurturing. She is compassionate, intelligent, and organized. She keeps our home running smoothly. Michelle is always ready to listen or provide a hug. I love her smile.
Michelle fills our home and our lives with warmth. She encourages Carter with his schoolwork and his hobbies. A whole new world has opened up since I married Michelle and I treasure every moment.
About Carter
Carter will be a fantastic big brother. He is kind, loving, gentle and generous. Carter eagerly awaits the arrival of a brother or sister. As parents we find great joy in our son’s accomplishments and discoveries. We long to love and cherish another soul.
Our Families
Family is extremely important to us and we feel so blessed to have the incredible family that we have. Our parents play an important role in our lives and the lives of their grandchildren. Carter has always felt comfortable with his grandparents. He gets excited when we plan family gatherings.
Joseph’s sister is married and she has two daughters. Michelle has two brothers, they are identical twins. One brother has two daughters, the other has one daughter and one son.
Our Dogs
We have two small, friendly dogs. Both dogs adore children.
Our Home
Our home is located in a safe neighborhood with many children. We have a large backyard that is perfect for outdoor activities with family and friends. We delight in decorating our home for holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas.
Our neighborhood has wonderful parks and a large pool where we often swim. We are minutes from the beach. We have worked hard to create a safe, stable and loving home for children.
Michelle’s career and hobbies
I work part-time, about 15 hours a week, on weekends as a nurse practitioner. We are lucky to be able to arrange our life so that one of us is always at home. We never plan to use daycare. In addition to caring for my family and home, I adore baking, reading and photography. I have started digital scrap-booking and creating movies with pictures that I have taken.
Joseph’s career
I enjoy teaching. I love designing creative lesson plans and sharing what I know with young people. I look forward to becoming a school principal.
Family Time
We delight in our family time. Everyday we our thankful for the time we spend together. Our family meals are special times where we share the events of the day. Family outings include vacations, trips to the beach, local parks, the library and other family activities. We plan one or two special trips a year. We recently went to Disney World, and Sesame Place. Also, we have taken long weekends in New York and Boston as a family.
In Closing
We are thankful that you have given us the opportunity to share our story with you. We want you to know that if you choose us to parent your child, your child will grow up knowing how much you love him or her. We will nurture his or her spirit. We promise to love your child unconditionally. Your child will grow up in a happy home with laughter and affection. Your child will have a big brother to love and be loved by. She or he will have grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to play with and be cherished by.
We have been blessed with a strong, happy marriage, a wonderful son, and loving, supportive family. We long to share our love and happy home with another child. We pray for the day when another soul joys us.
