Waiting Parents
Keith & Anita .. waiting in Connecticut
Hello!
We are Keith and Anita and we thank you for taking the time to get to know us. Times of struggle are challenging at best and we hope that strength and grace will help you as you face the decision before you.
We met 11 years ago and have been married since April 4th, 1998. Our love story is one that has grown through great happiness and challenge. We connected so easily through our conversations about our family growing up, what we enjoy in life, and our dreams. Marriage was never a question; it was an answer to a void in both of our hearts. Living and laughing without each other is unimaginable.
From the beginning of our marriage, we had both wanted to start a family. Even with the help of medical intervention, we were not successful having a biological child. After many attempts and losses, we decided that adoption was the answer to our prayers. Four years after we were married, we adopted Nolan. He is a bright, loving, and curious child. It brings great joy to our hearts to watch him grow and learn every day. He has been asking for a sibling for quite some time now and we both feel he will be an incredible big brother.
About Keith from Anita:
Keith is a very loving and affectionate man. He truly cares for me not only by working endlessly to provide for our family, but also through the wonderful deeds he performs like washing my car, putting up shelves in my laundry room, bringing me a café mocha when he returns from a morning of errands or just by listening to me when I have had a rough day. He is an incredible father as well. Every night after he comes home from work, it is daddy and Nolan time. They will wrestle, play basketball, pretend to be power rangers, and many other fun things. Keith loves Nolan with all that he has and longs to do so with another child as well.
We both have varied interests. Keith enjoys bicycling and rides his bike to and from work, which is a 20 mile round trip. He has recently begun to participate in road races with his bike and plans to enter more in the future. He also enjoys working outside in the yard which includes landscaping, feeding the birds, and observing the wildlife come and go. Swimming is another sport he thoroughly enjoys and he loves watching Nolan learn different strokes in his swimming classes every Saturday. Perhaps Nolan will follow in his father’s footsteps and swim competitively. If not, then we will support him in whatever he wants to do.
About Anita from Keith:
Anita enjoys reading very much and loves to read to Nolan. This has resulted in Nolan having a strong interest in books. She enjoys decorating our home and is currently involved in painting several rooms in our house. She strives in making our home very inviting. I am always impressed at how well she has taught Nolan his ABCs, counting, how to play games, and manners. Her love of being a stay at home mom shows.
I am very fortunate to have married my best friend and believe that Anita is my soul mate. No one is more supportive and caring in my life then Anita. The best part of my day is when I get to talk to her when I get home from work. No matter how much we see each other, we still have a lot to talk about. Anita has battled the infertility issue for a long time and her courage inspires me. We have faced this adversity together and have used this challenge in our life to make our relationship stronger.
What We Like to Do as a Family:
Our home is warm and inviting. We enjoy having friends and family over to visit our home. Anita enjoys cooking home style meals like a good pot roast or fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Even better is watching our guests enjoy their meals. The experience reminds her of how her mom used to make such meals on Sundays after church for family and friends. It is very important to both of us to keep the tradition of such dinners. Dinner time at our house is a time to be thankful for the blessings in our lives.
Life for us is about quality and not quantity. Therefore, family time is very important to our everyday life. We enjoy trips to the beach, the playground, and spending time in the yard. Other things we love to do are going to the movies, spending vacations together, the library, and playing board games. When we went to see the show, “The Berenstain Bears” on stage, we loved seeing Nolan’s eyes light up with excitement. For Anita and I there is nothing better than seeing the world through a child’s eyes.
Our Town and Home:
We live in a quaint town near the sea shore. Our home is close to schools, churches, parks, and shopping. Our house has a large front yard and a sizable back yard for running and playing. Included in the yard is a swing we placed on a tree. The swing is a popular attraction for Nolan. Our long and winding driveway is ideal for a child to ride their bike and go for a wagon ride. In the summer, we enjoy grilling out on our deck. On hot days we cool off in our inflatable pool or at the ocean. Nolan loves playing basketball and we envision having a basketball hoop for him. Currently we play baseball and soccer with Nolan in the yard. Even our dog, Scooby, will join the game.
There are so many activities to participate in near our home such as parks, museums, aquarium and zoo and we look forward to sharing each and every one of them with the newest family member.
We hope this has given you a chance to know us a bit better. We so look forward to opening our hearts and our home to another child. If you desire to, we would love to meet you and get to know you. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible during this difficult journey. Please know that you are in our prayers and hearts always.
Warmest regards,
Keith & Anita
